About The Position

The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill invites applications for three full-time (9 mos.) fixed-term Teaching Assistant Professors with three-year contracts which are renewable. Teaching faculty in the Department typically teach three courses per semester for a total of six courses each academic year, along with service/administrative responsibilities. Additionally, this position offers excellent career advancement opportunities, including promotion to Teaching Associate Professor and Teaching (Full) Professor. Nice To Haves

  • Specialty in neuroscience
  • Demonstrated excellence in undergraduate education
  • Qualified to teach cellular and molecular neuroscience courses including introduction to neuroscience
  • Experience with a neuroscience laboratory course based undergraduate research experience ( CURE ) in the applicant’s area of expertise
  • Experience with other key courses in the UNC neuroscience curriculum such as Learning and Sensation & Perception
