About The Position

The Department of Psychological Science in the Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Arkansas invites applications for non-tenure track Teaching Assistant Professors to start in August 2026. There are two positions available. These are standard nine-month faculty appointments with an initial appointment for a period of up to three academic years. The opportunity for reappointment will be based on performance and continued need. To be considered for a three-year appointment, candidates should provide at least three years of evaluation as instructor of record illustrating high quality teaching effectiveness as part of the Statement of Teaching Philosophy. Each Teaching Assistant Professor in Psychological Science will teach undergraduate courses in psychology; direct honors thesis and independent research students; serve on honors thesis committees; mentor undergraduate students; and provide service to the department, college, university, community, and profession. Successful candidates will teach a 3/3 course load per academic year, primarily at the undergraduate level. Teaching responsibilities may include Introduction to Statistics for Psychologists, Research Methods, capstone courses in Advanced Research or Advanced Seminar, courses in the candidate’s area of specialty, and other courses based on departmental needs. The candidates will be expected to have experience in and to maintain an ongoing program of research that can involve undergraduate students. The candidates will also contribute to service activities at the department, college, and university levels. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
