About The Position

This is a full-time, academic year (9 month), in-person teaching academic staff position in nursing. The position is primarily responsible for teaching academic courses for nursing students enrolled in the UWSP RN to BSN Completion program and the University of Wisconsin Collaborative BSN@Home online program. Excellence in teaching, professional development, and service are required for retention and promotion. The successful candidate will also participate in activities related to: maintaining Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accreditation; working collaboratively with BSN@Home partners; engaging in assessment; pursuing curricular improvements; advising nursing students and preparing academic plans. Additional responsibilities of this position include engaging in Nursing Program and School of Health Sciences and Wellness and university activities, participating in student recruitment efforts, and maintaining RN licensure and appropriate membership in progressional organizations.

Requirements

  • Registered nurse license in the State of Wisconsin or eligible to obtain Wisconsin nursing license by November 1, 2025
  • Doctorate of Nurse Practice (DNP) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with department faculty and staff to develop teaching strategies relevant to the discipline
  • Develops and designs curriculum and instructional material relevant to a course of instruction
  • Contributes to the development of teaching and learning scholarly work including publications and presentations
  • Contributes to the strategic development of curriculum and academic content through various mediums to ensure the integrity of the educational mission of the work unit
  • Advises students on academic and career direction within a specific field of study
  • Facilitates classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, including assessment of student performance
  • May supervise student employees involved in development or delivery of instruction
