About The Position

The Teaching Assistant for Individual Freedom v. Authority (GOVT 150) will run a weekly one-hour discussion section and be available to talk to students in one of the six sections of Individual Freedom v. Authority offered in Spring 2026. The Teaching Assistant will also meet with the course’s professor to discuss class and coordinate section topics.

Requirements

  • Having previously taken Individual Freedom v. Authority (GOVT 105).
  • This position is available only to enrolled American University students.

Nice To Haves

  • Good understanding of the main issues of political philosophy.
  • All AU students are eligible to apply for this position, with a preference for those students with a Federal Work Study award.

Responsibilities
