About The Position

Freedom Preparatory Academy Charter Schools is a network of PreK-12 free public charter schools in Memphis, TN, and Birmingham, AL, dedicated to preparing students for college and life. Since 2009, they have grown significantly, consistently achieving high academic results in math and English Language Arts. Freedom Prep is hosting a Summer School for rising Kindergarten - 5th grade students, funded by a Summer School Grant. This application is for individuals interested in teaching during this program, which runs from June 2nd to July 2nd, with working hours from 8:00am-2:30pm (7:30am arrival, 3pm departure). The program includes 3 full days of professional development before the start and additional PD twice a week. Teachers will receive a clear, scripted curriculum, coaching on intellectual prep and student work study, and will administer mandatory pre and post assessments.

Requirements

• Complete a short application to indicate experience and interest in teaching this summer
• Attend 3 full days of professional development prior to the start of summer school
• Attend professional development 2x per week during the summer school program
• Adhere to the working hours of 8:00am-2:30pm, arriving by 7:30am and staying until 3pm after students are dismissed
