About The Position
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Teacher at Smokey Point Behavioral Hospital. In this role, you will be responsible to help students develop skills and knowledge consistent with the district’s curriculum and goals that will contribute to the student’s development. Maintaining a classroom climate which nurtures and supports for the learning environment Understands and uses course of study. Utilizes a variety of teaching strategies. Responds to student ideas and opinions positively. Shows flexibility to student needs. Incorporates problem solving techniques in instruction when appropriate. Employs instructional techniques effectively.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in education, social services, or appropriate discipline.
- One year of related experience, with a knowledge of various teaching methods.
- Certification through the State of Washington
- Successful completion CPR certification and Satori Alternatives to Managing Aggression within 90 days of employment.
- May be required to work flexible hours.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.
