About The Position

SUMMARY The Upper School mathematics department teaches Algebra I through Vector Calculus, including AP Statistics and AP Calculus, both BC and AB. For this position, the school seeks an outstanding educator for Upper School Math with expertise in a wide array of math courses. This is a full-time, 10-month, exempt position. Some evening and weekend work is required.? RESPONSIBILITIES? Teach four sections of mathematics. Mentor twelve to fourteen students as part of a comprehensive grade level Advisory team. Engage in the life of the school beyond the classroom.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in an independent school environment teaching Upper School math.
  • Experience teaching AP Calculus AB or BC is preferred.
  • Experience in working with a TI-84 calculator and various computer technology.

  • contribute time and effort to the Math Lab.
  • willingness to work with other departments to teach interdisciplinary courses or units.
  • possess strong written and oral communication skills for communicating with parents and colleagues.

Nice To Haves

  • master’s degree preferred.
