The Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) serves approximately 37,000 students in 100+ schools, aiming to ensure every child attends a high-quality school. Guided by The Cleveland Plan and Ohio House Bill 525, CMSD schools have autonomy over human and financial resources in exchange for accountability. Principals are responsible for establishing high-quality academic centers focused on personalized instruction and professional support. The district's Standards of Excellence align with its Theory of Action to support scholar achievement. CMSD's vision for learning in a post-pandemic world emphasizes academically/intellectually complex tasks, productive struggle, and authentic opportunities for learners to demonstrate academic content and transferable skills in a joyful and adventurous environment. The Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (Air Force JROTC) is a course taught for academic credit in high schools by retired officers and non-commissioned officers. The Senior Air Force Instructor is responsible to the Air Force and the Cleveland Metropolitan School District for all aspects of the operation of the Air Force JROTC unit.
