About The Position

This position is for a Science Teacher at Aberdeen High School, a .4 FTE contract role for the 2026-27 School Year. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing instructional programs, effectively teaching the approved curriculum to meet district objectives, and communicating student progress to both students and parents. The role also involves active participation in school and district activities, meetings, and conferences, as well as maintaining necessary reports and records. The teacher will establish and uphold appropriate standards for classroom behavior to foster a supportive and productive learning environment. Requirements

Valid Washington Teaching Certificate with proper endorsement for science.
Knowledge of current trends in curriculum, instruction and technology.
Ability to plan instructional programs to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Evidence of classroom management skills to provide a productive learning environment.
Thorough understanding of cooperative learning groups and techniques.

Nice To Haves

Bilingual/Spanish speaking preferred.
Knowledge/experience with new state assessment requirements preferred.
Elementary teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Work cooperatively with administration and staff to develop and implement instructional programs and activities
Effectively teach the approved curriculum using appropriate instructional methods and materials to meet district objectives for student learning
Effectively communicate learning progress with students and parents.
Participate in school or district activities, meetings, and conferences as required.
Maintain required reports and records.
Direct activities of non-certificated personnel, if required.
