About The Position

Cross Country Education is seeking a highly specialized Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to manage a diverse caseload near Redmond, WA , supporting students across ages 3 through 22 for the remaining school year! Position Overview: Conduct Functional Vision Evaluations (FVEs) and Learning Media Assessments (LMAs), completing all related eligibility reports, IEPs, and 504 plans. Provide direct, specially designed instruction and consultation to students ages 3–22 with visual impairments across various school and community-based settings. Teach and reinforce essential skills within the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC), including instruction in reading and writing Braille, orientation and mobility (O&M) related skills, and technology. Partner with IEP/504 teams, guidance counselors, and related service providers to ensure services meet student needs and maintain 100% compliance with regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with the Visual Impairment Endorsement (TBLVS Certification)
  • Prior experience in conducting FVEs and LMAs, and proficiency in instructing students in the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC), including Braille
  • Ability to work effectively in-person across a multi-site caseload to serve students within the 3–22 age range
