Position is for the 2026-2027 school year POSITION: Teacher, Middle School Science LOCATION: 9200 York St., Thornton, CO 80229 - York International PAY RANGE: Licensed Salary Schedule, $60,004 - $124,634 Annual Salary CALENDAR: 190 Days REPORTS TO: School Director/Principal SCHOOL DESIGN OVERVIEW: York International School is a globally minded K-12 school. QUALIFICATIONS: Colorado teaching license with an appropriate Science endorsement required. Additional endorsement in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education preferred, or willingness to pursue endorsement or equivalent coursework. Required participation in Mapleton's Secondary Constructing Institute (course options will be provided throughout the year) JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/REQUIREMENTS: Have a commitment to raising achievement among all students including high-need students, students with disabilities, advanced students, and those who are performing below grade level. Develop lesson plans which ensure instruction is paced well, encourage students to think critically, engage all students in authentic and productive learning, and ensure smooth classroom management. Provide students with skills necessary to meet or exceed the Grade Level Expectations of the Colorado Academic Standards with defined sequential outcomes, authentic and engaging work, and modeled assessment expectations. Clearly communicate student progress and achievements throughout course work with students and parents. Maintain professional communications and interactions with students, parent community, and staff. Willingness and ability to collaborate with colleagues across content areas. Collaboration includes participating in planning meetings to develop integrated instruction and improve teaching practices, implementing a rigorous curriculum, authentic instruction, and multiple assessment strategies. Attend and take full advantage of professional development offered. Model, instill, and actively participate in building a supportive and positive culture. Perseverance in the face of challenges. Work with a growth mindset. All other duties as assigned. TRAINING: Mandatory Title IX training is required by the Colorado Department of Education and for all public school employees. Title IX training addresses harassment, discrimination, and bullying. Completing these mandatory Title IX training courses ensure we are meeting state requirements while continuing to foster a culture of safety and belonging across our schools. You will have two mandatory training courses that must be completed within 30 days of your date of hire and are required to be completed on your own time.
