About The Position

The Teacher II will work under the direct supervision of the Site Supervisor. Will assist with the planning and developing of program goals. Will implement program goals. Will serve as classroom teacher to facilitate each childs growth in social, emotional, cognitive and physical development with age-appropriate activities. Will be responsible for completing assessments on individual children. Will develop lesson plans based on the childrens needs and interests. Will participate in community outreach activities to maintain appropriate children enrollment. The Teacher II will maintain clear communication with parents regarding the childs development and the program. Will maintain confidentiality of records and information. Will ensure classroom quality and compliance with Community Care Licensing, funding contracts and El Proyecto policies and procedures. Will participate in Staff Development opportunities and meetings and will maintain clear communication with Center Director, staff, parents and co-workers. Will perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Meet requirements described in Community Care Licensing including health screening; TB, State required vaccines, criminal record clearances.
  • Maintain required First Aid and CPR certifications.
  • Must possess skills to work independently and on a team; communicate effectively orally and in writing in English.
  • Position requires regular stooping, bending and ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Cultural sensitivity required.
  • Must submit to and pass a urinalysis test, health screening report and a criminal background clearance as a pre-condition for employment.
  • Must be able to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster, TDAP, MMR, Influenza (Flu) & a recent TB Test/Chest X-rays.
  • AA in Early Childhood Education OR Child Development including core courses.
  • Must hold a Child Development Teachers Permit.
  • A minimum of one (1) year demonstrated experience in program implementation with children.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills highly desirable.
  • More years preferred.
