About The Position

Teacher - Gifted Resource Blacksburg Middle School 2026-2027 Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia is now accepting applications for a Gifted Resource teacher position available in the division for the school year 2026-2027. JOB DESCRIPTION: The Gifted Resource teacher serves students throughout the division and coordinates the identification and placement of gifted students; provides support for the classroom teacher in development and delivery of differentiated curriculum; and works directly with gifted students. The Gifted Resource teacher uses a collaborative model in working with the principals and teachers to provide services to the students and is a member of a cadre of teachers who conduct staff development sessions on gifted identification, curriculum, and instruction at the school and division levels.

Requirements

• Hold a Virginia teacher’s license with an endorsement in elementary or secondary education
• Have a minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience working with gifted and high ability students
• Have experience in curriculum development and lesson planning
• Have experience and expertise in using technology in education
• Have effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Have experience fostering an inclusive learning environment
• Have experience or working familiarity with Google Drive for instruction, collaboration and course work
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and families
• Demonstrate the ability to work and collaborate with a team of other teachers
• Ability to be dependable and punctual

Nice To Haves

• Possess an endorsement in gifted education
• Have experience in secondary English education
