Check the district CFA position posting. This is a no-salary position. At BYU, Affiliate Faculty are visiting scholars/volunteers. Position Start Date: August 1, 2026 Required Degree: Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. Degree must be in related field. The required degree must be completed by the start date. Experience: Public school teaching experience in grades K-6. Experience as a mentor/cooperating teacher to teacher candidates. Duties/Expectations: Assist in the teaching of Elementary Education practicum courses. Assist district liaisons in coordinating and supervising related practicum experiences. Participate, as requested, in all university, McKay School of Education, and department and school partnership meetings, including University Conference Week held the week before fall semester begins. Adhere to the BYU Honor Code and other expectations of a professional educator. Communicate program components and university expectations to university faculty members, school personnel and administrators, and practicum students, student teachers, and interns. Build positive relationships with school personnel, university faculty members, practicum students, student teachers, and interns. Mentor practicum students, student teachers, and interns in their classroom placements. Conduct ongoing reviews of preservice teacher performance and submit progress reports for practicum students, student teachers, and interns.
