SUBSTITUTE: TEACHER & AIDES (Migrant Seasonal Head Start) Aberdeen
About The Position
This is a temporary entry-level substitute position for Teacher & Aides within the Migrant Seasonal Head Start program in Aberdeen, ID. The role involves assisting in the classroom environment, providing children with developmental experiences, maintaining a safe and supportive learning space, and potentially assisting with hygienic needs for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Substitutes are hired temporarily to supplement the workforce or assist with specific projects and are not eligible for benefits, holiday pay, or paid time off. There is a possibility of performing bus monitor duties if needed. The position requires travel up to 25% and is a day shift role.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must pass physical examination and background checks, including state day care clearance
- Must obtain clearance of Tuberculosis
- Must obtain Pediatric First Aid and CPR certification

- Ability to read, speak, and write in both English/Spanish in a business setting
Responsibilities
- Assist to prepare, maintain, and present records, documents, reports, reviews, and databases
- Ability to help provide children with experiences and opportunities to develop curiosity, initiative, problem-solving skills, and creativity
- Ability to help maintain a safe and supportive learning environment in a classroom environment
- May include taking care of the hygienic needs of infants, toddlers, and potentially preschoolers.
- Ability to help maintain clear, reasonable, consistent, and age-appropriate rules and expectations for children
- Ability to stay current on new educational practices and procedures
- May perform duties of bus monitor if needed
