This posting is for an 8th Grade Math/Algebra I Teacher at Riverview Middle for the 2026-27 school year. The educator must hold a valid California Single Subject Foundational Level Mathematics Teaching Credential. Classroom Teachers are evaluated by the site administrator or designees based on the California Standards for the Teaching Profession. Qualified first-year teachers may be evaluated by a coach from the Peer Assistance and Review Program. The role involves establishing goals, complying with state laws and district policies, being present on campus during designated times, attending meetings, submitting documents, complying with child abuse reporting laws, adhering to curriculum standards, and being responsible for student care, control, and instruction. Teachers are also expected to report accidents/illnesses, respect student individuality, maintain a positive classroom environment, stay updated on educational practices, enforce rules, work cooperatively with staff and community, provide lesson plans for substitutes, and perform non-instructional duties. Step placement for salary is based on prior K-12 teaching experience with a valid credential, with at least 75% of a school year counting as one year of experience. Classification is based on semester units completed after a Bachelor's degree.
