About The Position
This position involves developing and implementing lesson plans, providing instruction for Adult Basic Education/General Education Development programs, administering tests, evaluating inmates, and maintaining discipline and security within the instructional area. The role also includes attending meetings and training, preparing records and reports, managing inventory, and performing other education-related duties as assigned by administrators.
Requirements
- Baccalaureate degree
- Adult Educator four year permit and/or are eligible to receive a four-year permit from the Ohio Department of Education
- Any current Teacher Certificate appropriate grade level to be assigned
- Teacher 1, 71721, must also have baccalaureate degree or less
Responsibilities
- Develops lesson plans to address those needs to include individualized training for assignments
- Provides necessary instruction for Adult Basic Education/General Education Development program
- Administers necessary tests
- Evaluate inmates provides necessary direction for inmates
- Maintains discipline and/or security of instructional area
- Attends education meetings, unit staff meetings and in-service training
- Prepares required records and reports
- Maintains inventory and orders supplies and materials needed
- Performs other education and/or related duties as requested by education administrators
- Performs other duties as required on assignment
