Requirements

  • Prior experience as a food or beverage server, cocktail server, or host preferred.
  • Knowledge of tea varieties and proper service techniques is strongly desired.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to carry trays and teapots, and to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and perform tasks requiring bending and reaching.
  • Professional demeanor and service-focused attitude.
  • Must adhere to Local 122 Collective Bargaining Agreement regulations, with the option to obtain union membership after 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and greet guests warmly upon arrival to Afternoon Tea service.
  • Present and describe a variety of teas, assisting guests in their selections.
  • Prepare and serve teas with precision, ensuring correct presentation and accompaniments.
  • Deliver multi-course Afternoon Tea service, including savories, scones, and pastries, in an elegant and timely manner.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of tea offerings, menu items, and proper service etiquette.
  • Assist with table setup prior to service, including linens, silverware, teapots, cups, and floral accents.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of service areas and equipment.
  • Retrieve and clear trays and reset tables promptly between guests.
  • Handle guest concerns with professionalism and proactive solutions.
  • Support team members and perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
