Our Tax Technology and Transformation (TTT) team offers services to enhance the operational efficiency of tax functions and the delivery of technical services, supported by a team of over 1,200 professionals. Our core focus areas include transforming tax functions, integrating with finance and business processes, and optimizing enterprise systems, all bolstered by strategic alliances. We aim to revolutionize tax and finance operations through strategy development, digitalization, and leveraging technology to automate compliance, reporting, and provide valuable insights to our clients. As an Intern within the Tax Technology and Transformation (TTT) practice within the Financial Services Organization (FSO), you will help financial service organizations transform their tax functions and implement practical solutions to achieve more efficient, effective, and sustainable operating models. You will learn about the latest in tax technology trends and how to become a trusted client advisor. You will learn about organization’s cultures, challenges and goals. You will work on client deliverables and may participate directly with clients in strategy meetings and workshops. Our clients are located nationwide, so travel may be a part of the role.

Requirements

  • A predicted undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Economics, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field; or an Accounting major with a double major or minor in technology; supported by a strong academic record.
  • Excellent communication and business-writing skills.
  • A natural flair for problem solving, and an entrepreneurial approach to work.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the confidence to prioritize your workload within tight deadlines.
  • The flexibility to work consistently, both individually and as part of a focused team.
  • A data management background, with an understanding of common tools and principles.
  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.
  • Access to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as ride share and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.

Nice To Haves

  • A professional certification (Microsoft/SAP/Product Manager), CPA license or membership to state Bar or progress to attaining those mentioned.
  • Project management certification (PMI or equivalent), and/or Lean Six Sigma yellow belt or higher preferred (in process of certification is a plus if not yet achieved).
  • Knowledge of how to leverage firm-approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.

Responsibilities

  • Assuming full responsibility for designated tasks and ensuring their follow-through to the end.
  • Exploring opportunities to streamline repetitive processes through automation with current and new tech solutions.
  • Streamlining the collection and integration of tax information to facilitate better analysis and strategic planning.
  • Enhancing the quality of reports to improve client insights into risk assessment and opportunity identification.
  • Providing project support to team members to guarantee the punctual delivery of project outcomes.
  • Investigating cutting-edge technologies like AI and machine learning to develop relevant business cases for their implementation.
