About The Position

Volvo Cars USA is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive
Tax Senior Specialist to join our dynamic finance team. This role is responsible for managing federal, state, and local tax compliance, supporting tax planning initiatives, and ensuring accurate reporting in accordance with U.S. tax regulations. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MST preferred.
• 3–5 years of relevant tax experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
• Strong understanding of U.S. federal and state tax regulations.
• Proficiency in tax software (e.g., OneSource, Vertex) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review federal, state, and local income tax returns, including quarterly estimates and extensions.
• Assist with indirect tax filings (sales/use, property tax, etc.) and ensure timely compliance.
• Support tax audits and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
• Maintain and reconcile tax accounts and ensure proper documentation.
• Collaborate with internal departments and external advisors to support tax planning and strategy.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess potential impacts on the company.
• Assist with transfer pricing documentation and intercompany transactions.
• Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the tax function.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes related to tax provisions and reporting.
