EY's FSO Technology and Transformation practice offers opportunities to develop skills by assisting financial services clients with operational challenges in their tax functions. Services include tax accounting and compliance process improvement, tax sensitization of ERP systems, automation of complex hedge fund allocations, and enhancement of tax processes and/or technology to address legislative and regulatory changes. The role involves working with clients to improve the operational effectiveness and efficiency of their tax functions and enhance their connection with executive management.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
  • One of the following certifications: CPA, JD, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt and/or Project Management Professional (PMP); or a master’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering.
  • Exposure to the financial services industry.
  • Experience in accounting/finance/tax.
  • Experience in tax or finance performance improvement.
  • Experience in tax software development and/or implementation.
  • Strong leadership ability.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge in implementing tax technology solutions (e.g., CorpTax, ONESOURCE, Sabrix, Vertex, SharePoint, PFI, RPA software).
  • Embedding tax requirements into financial/business systems and processes (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Hyperion, PAM, Investran).
  • Developing and implementing custom applications (e.g., Visual Studio, VBA/VSTO, SQL Server, MS PowerBI Suite).

Responsibilities

  • Identify ways to improve operational effectiveness in tax functions.
  • Review the process and controls in place, including technology.
  • Assess the effectiveness of various technology systems used by tax clients to increase automation and data quality throughout tax processes.
  • Assess overall risk to establish a proper control environment.
  • Design and build custom tax applications.
  • Work with leadership to run projects.
  • Manage quality of deliverables from offshore teams (as needed) to deliver projects to time, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Document technical and business requirements, including identifying and prioritizing issues.
