Participates in business development efforts. Has account management responsibility for assigned clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, Economics, or related field
• 7-10 years’ experience in sales/use tax consulting
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and possess exceptional attention to detail
• Organizational and interpersonal skills required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to meet travel requirements
• Valid driver’s license required
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• This position does not qualify for employment-based sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Reviews client records for sales and use tax refund potential, credits, deficiency assessments, and procedural recommendations
• Prepares written reports supporting DMA’s position for State taxing authorities; reviews and submits periodic status reports to clients; prepares Letters of Findings for clients
• Works with State tax officials to achieve maximum tax savings
• Participates in business development efforts
• Responsible for client account management on assigned clients
• Updates work-in-process reports
• Represents clients during audits and in hearings with state taxing authorities
• Conducts on-site inspection of client plants and operations
• Manages, coordinates, and reviews activities of Tax Analysts and Sr. Tax Consultants
• Maintains excellent knowledge of state and local tax laws, regulations, and court decisions
• Researches more complex tax issues
• Assist Director, National Accounts and other business development professionals in scoping and developing customized solutions for new and prospective clients
