We are seeking a dynamics Tax Director, America to lead tax strategy and operations across all Group Operating Companies in the Americas region, including the USA, Brazil, Peru and other jurisdictions. You will be a strategic partner to the business, shaping decisions with tax insight, driving process transformation, and leading a shift to in-house tax return preparation. With responsibility for U.S. federal, state, and local income taxes, sales and use tax, as well key international tax issues such as BEAT, FDII and Transfer Pricing you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the company’s tax function is efficient, forward-looking, and aligned with business growth. You will be a key part of the Group’s tax team, help shape all aspects of the Americas tax strategy, serve as a true business partner, and transform tax governance and compliance in the region. Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive tax experience, including US federal, state, and local taxation, with experience of Latin American taxation a strong plus.
  • Proven leadership in a multinational corporate environment; Direct experience of commerce & industry a strong plus, or Big 4 or other large public accounting background.
  • Experience in income tax provision and sales/use tax compliance.
  • Track record of driving transformation, bringing processes in-house, implementation of technology
  • Strong business acumen, able to influence decisions and communicate complex tax concepts to non-tax stakeholders.
  • Experience of managing and development of team members.
  • CPA or JD/LLM in Taxation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to all the Group’s commercial teams in region as well as finance, operations, embedding tax insight into key business and strategic decisions.
  • Partner across the organization to anticipate tax impacts of business initiatives and optimize outcomes.
  • Lead the transition to in-house income tax return preparation, developing the incumbent US tax manager and implementing smarter processes.
  • Build relationships with external advisors to maximise the value received by the Group from those relationships.
  • Stay ahead of legislative change in the region and identify risk and opportunities for the group arising from that change.
  • Work closely with the newly appointed Regional Financial controller to represent Group Finance in the region
  • Oversee, review and develop the incumbent US tax manager in their work on U.S. federal and state income tax filings, annual provision, and annual true-ups.
  • Lead oversight for sales and use tax compliance across multiple businesses and states. The Group Global Indirect Tax Senior Manager will provide support as necessary.
  • Ensure accurate reporting for BEAT and FDII as necessary.
  • Lead the strengthening of tax reporting and forecasting in region to report to the Global Direct Tax Senior Manager and team.
  • Transform compliance processes through technology, automation, and best practices. Utilise Loctax workflow and risk management tool.
  • Ensure robust internal controls and audit readiness.
  • Lead interactions with US Federal, state and non-US tax authorities and manage audits effectively.
  • Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing tax team, contribute to discussions with the wider global team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate globally to align Americas tax strategy with broader company objectives
