About The Position

Working as a key member in a department of three, the coordinator assists the director with identification and collection of delinquent real estate taxes in accordance with established procedures, tax-collection practices, precedents, and any applicable legal standards or regulations. The coordinator also acts on behalf of the director in that person's absence.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Two years' work experience involving accounting and math skills
• Effective interpersonal relations and communications skills (both written and verbal)
• Attention to details and accuracy
• Experience handling cash
• Computer proficiency
• Ability to set schedules and meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced office with frequent interruptions and dealing with the public
• Data entry skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities

• Assist the director with identification and collection of delinquent real estate taxes in accordance with established procedures, tax-collection practices, precedents, and any applicable legal standards or regulations
• Act on behalf of the director in that person's absence
• Daily deposit of tax payments
• Provide customer service
• Support the process to prepare for and conduct periodic tax sales in compliance with applicable laws
• Prepare and send notices
• Distribute collected taxes to designated parties
• Support judicial sale process
• Search for individuals
• Review title reports
• Contribute to upset-sale process
• Prepare sale lists
• Prepare and send quarterly tax distributions
• Prepare and distribute audit reports
• Maintain information
