With 15 distribution centers strategically located throughout the nation, HF Foods Group aims to supply the increasing demand for Asian American restaurant cuisine. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES: HF Foods Group is seeking a highly motivated Tax Analyst to join our internal tax team to support our growing business environment. This role will focus heavily on sales and indirect tax compliance, tax automation, and supporting income tax functions that extend beyond recurring monthly duties. The Tax Analyst will work closely with the Tax Director, distribution centers (DCs), external tax service providers, and internal cross-functional teams to support the company’s corporate tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities. A successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority tax projects while meeting deadlines.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external service providers
  • Commitment to maintaining current knowledge of applicable tax regulations and developments
  • B achelor’s degree in accounting , f inance, or related field
  • 1+ years of corporate tax experience in public accounting or industry preferred
  • Experience supporting multi-state sales and use tax compliance, including filings, registrations, and nexus considerations, preferred
  • Working knowledge of U.S. federal and state corporate income tax
  • Familiarity with ASC 740 tax provision concepts
  • SEC reporting experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Support multi-state sales and use tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions , including state registrations, filings in new nexus states, amended returns, and ongoing nexus monitoring
  • Coordinate with d istribution c enters (DCs) and operational teams to standardize customer resale certificate collection, validation, and documentation processes
  • Prepare and maintain indirect tax workpapers and filings, including sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, and other applicable business taxes
  • Assist with sales tax automation initiatives, ensuring accurate tax determination, collection, and remittance
  • Assist with federal, state, and local corporate income tax returns
  • Support quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations in accordance with ASC 740
  • Compile and analyze data to prepare tax schedules or as required by external tax service providers
  • Respond to tax notices and assist with tax audits, including documenting filing positions and providing supporting schedules
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and assess the impact on the organization
  • Reconcile tax-related balance sheet accounts and support month-end close activities
  • Collaborate with Accounting, AP, AR, and external tax providers to ensure proper tax treatment of transactions
  • Assist management in documenting tax processes and related SOX control procedures
  • Support tax planning initiatives and other ad-hoc tax and cross-functional projects
