Under the general direction of the Chief Deputy Auditor, the County Tax Administrator performs a combination of routine and complex analytical duties related to property tax administration. This includes oversight of tax relief programs, certified tax rates, the Board of Equalization, sales tax reporting, and the annual tax sale, all in accordance with Utah statutory regulations. Tax System Management: Oversees administration of the county property tax system (Eagle Recorder by Tyler Technologies), coordinating with the Recorder, Assessor, and Treasurer Offices to ensure efficient and seamless tax operations. Establishes and maintains tax districts, entities, and tax rates within the county system, while managing complex databases and reporting tools utilizing spreadsheets, relational databases, and statistical software. State Coordination : Serves as the county liaison with the Utah State Tax Commission (USTC) for certified tax rates, tax relief programs, Redevelopment Agency reporting, and property value nomenclature. Tax Relief Administration : Manages all property tax relief programs, including Blind Exemption, Veteran Exemption, Deployed Military Exemption, Circuit Breaker Abatement, and Indigent/County Abatement. Coordinates application intake with the Clerk Division and provides audit and processing oversight. Certified Tax Rate & Truth in Taxation : Manages the certified tax rate process in collaboration with local taxing entities and the Utah State Tax Commission (USTC).
