Miller Cooper is seeking a professional, organized, and proactive Tax Administrative Professional to be the welcoming face in our Downers Grove office. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a mid-size accounting firm.
  • Working experience processing tax returns.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • DAILY ACCESS TO A VEHICLE is required to commute to and from our Downers Grove office, and other locations for training and as needed.
  • Overtime required during spring and fall busy seasons, including Saturdays.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of GoFileRoom, GoSystem, SafeSend, or similar accounting software is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the completion of all filing, including communication with Department Personnel to resolve errors.
  • Maintain content for internal document management.
  • Receive, scan, and maintain physical tax documents received from clients and convert to electronic formats for procession.
  • Process tax returns, typically via electronic means using SafeSend platforms, but occasionally in paper.
  • Type and execute letters, general correspondence, and other documentation as needed.
  • Provide project/administrative support in other areas of the tax department as needed.
  • Assist with the organization and setup of catered food for weekly lunches, trainings, and other meetings.
  • Coordinate with catering vendors for orders, delivery, and setup/cleanup (must be willing to lift 5-10lbs).
  • Ensure meeting rooms are prepared and stocked as needed for various events.
  • Warmly greet and welcome all visitors, clients, and candidates, ensuring a positive and professional first impression.
  • Direct guests to the appropriate person or department.

  • Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including internal salary alignment, market data, and the candidate’s qualifications- including, but not limited to, specialty skills, prior relevant industry experience, and relevant degrees or certifications (e.g., CPA, JD). A reasonable estimate of the compensation for this level is $28-$31/hour.
