Position Summary The Tax Accountant will support the tax function across Foundry Commercial’s growing real estate platform, including property management, development, and investment activities. This role is responsible for tax compliance and reporting related to partnerships and corporate entities owning various real estate assets. This is an ideal opportunity for a tax professional with public accounting experience seeking to apply their technical skills in an in-house, collaborative, and entrepreneurial real estate environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assist in the review of federal, state, and local tax filings and work papers across multiple entity types, including partnerships and corporate structures
  • Maintain tax compliance calendars ensuring timely completion of tax returns, extensions, and non-resident withholding tax payments
  • Support quarterly and annual income tax extension / estimated payment calculations, work papers, and reconciliations
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors to facilitate compliance filings, provide documentation, and resolve tax notices and inquiries
  • Apply tax accounting and reporting guidance to real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions
  • Prepare, maintain and roll forward detailed tax workpapers, schedules, and supporting documentation supporting tax filings among multiple jurisdictions including accurate state apportionment calculations
  • Collaborate with multiple accounting teams, asset management, and property management teams ensuring accurate tax reporting and alignment with financial records
  • Support property and fund-level real estate tax reporting
  • Research tax laws and regulations relevant to the business and assist with documenting technical positions and internal / external guidance
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and scalability within the tax function
