About The Position

Ullico Inc. is actively recruiting an entry level Tax Accountant for our Silver Spring, MD office. This position performs varied tax planning, preparation, and compliance duties relating to, state income tax returns, sales and use tax returns, personal property tax returns, ULLIPAC, fixed assets, charitable foundation, abandoned property collections and monthly reconciliations. Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
Up to 2 years of experience in tax accounting, public accounting, or relevant internship experience.
Basic knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic accounting systems.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and attention to detail are critical for this role.
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare the Ullico 401(k) annual footnote.
Prepare and file the ULLIPAC the annual federal 1120 POL return and state filing.
Annually update the company W-9 forms for all entities and prepare new ones when companies are added.
Maintain the listing of all companies in the consolidated and non-consolidated group.
Prepare and file the Ullico Foundation form 990 filing and work with the outside auditors to complete the audit.
Prepare and follow up on abandoned property collections/recoveries.
Maintains Fixed Asset System and prepares quarterly depreciation entries, budget amounts, annual inventory, disposal entries and roll forward schedules.
Assist with preparation of partnership tax returns and ERISA compliance Form 5500 for ULLICO direct filing entities.
Verifies and/or follows up on account reconciliations assigned to incumbent.
Prepare Form 941 and 945, reconcile account information associated with said filings.
Reconcile 8922s to 941 filings and reply to SSA regarding W2s for third-party wages.
Prepare form 720 PCOR filing.
Analyze assigned accounts and prepare monthly sales tax returns and prepare annual property tax returns.
Perform tax research and analysis on either CCH Intelliconnect or BNA Tax research platforms.
Crosstrain on the preparation and filing of the companies 1099/W-2 project.
Perform other similar and related duties as required.
