About The Position

The Accountant, Tax reports to the Manager, Tax.  This role will be based at Columbus McKinnon Corporation global headquarters with a hybrid work schedule. The Accountant, Tax will support various income tax functions including tax compliance, tax provision computations, and tax planning initiatives. The Accountant, Tax will be a key member of the tax department as the Company continues to grow and evolve.Essential Duties and Responsibilities In-house preparation, in OneSource Income Tax software, of the consolidated group’s US federal and state income tax filings. Assist with the preparation, in OneSource Tax Provision, of the interim and annual tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740.  Prepare supporting workpapers and reconciliations. Aid in foreign informational reporting (Forms 5471, 8858). Assist with tax research including analysis of new tax laws and the potential impact on the Company. Correspond with the IRS and state departments of revenue regarding notices and audits. Collaborate with global business unit controllers to obtain then analyze relevant tax data. Actively participate in the building of a professional, proactive, responsive, technically strong tax organization. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Enthusiastic attitude, adaptable to change, and enjoys collaboration.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics or Analytics required.
  • Plans to pursue CPA license.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with tax research tools or income tax preparation software is a plus.
  • Prior Tax experience preferred.
