About The Position

Percentages represent approximate time allocation and must total 100%. Tasting Room & Bar Operations — 40% Oversee daily operations of the tasting room, cocktail bar, and retail floor. Implement operational processes for both retail and bar service to ensure consistency and efficiency. Maintain exceptional standards for customer service, guest engagement, and experience. Ensure the cleanliness, order, security, and overall safety of the distillery, retail areas, and bar. Ensure compliance with all food safety, TABC, and alcohol-service regulations. Execute merchandising, displays, and promotional plans as directed by the Director of Retail Operations. Maintain a strong presence on the floor to support staff and proactively address guest needs. Bartending & Beverage Leadership — 10% Serve as a lead bartender during peak periods, events, and high-traffic weekends. Ensure cocktail quality, consistency, and adherence to brand standards. Train staff in bartending basics, cocktail recipes, tasting techniques, and responsible alcohol service. Support product education, including brand storytelling around spirits, distillation methods, and local heritage. Staffing & Supervision — 30% Manage staff training, staffing needs, including hiring, scheduling, performance feedback, and staff development. Approve timesheets and maintain appropriate staffing levels for peak and off-peak times. Enforce employee policies and address employee concerns in partnership with HR and the Director of Retail Operations. Foster a high-performing, positive team culture rooted in hospitality and accountability. Sales Performance & Guest Experience — 10% Actively work alongside sales and bar staff in daily duties (sales, samples, spirit tastings, bartending, POS transactions). Ensure all products, displays, and activations are optimized to maximize sales and profitability. Motivate and mentor staff to meet or exceed established sales goals. Provide ongoing training in customer engagement, upselling, and selling techniques. Take ownership of sales results and implement strategies to meet weekly, monthly, and seasonal revenue targets. Meet weekly, monthly, and seasonal revenue targets – part of your job is to hit these goals Accounting & Cash Handling — 5% Manage the department budget and maintain alignment with financial parameters. Oversee accurate opening/closing procedures, cash handling, deposits, and record keeping. Ensure all accounting and POS protocols are followed by staff. Inventory Management — 5% Perform regular inventory control for both retail and bar products. Ensure proper stock levels, minimizing both overages and shortages. Requirements

  • Strong leadership and staff management skills.
  • Excellent guest service and hospitality skills, with the ability to create a warm, memorable experience.
  • Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and adapt to rapidly changing circumstances.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with POS systems, cash handling, and basic computer programs (Excel, Outlook).
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to independently problem-solve while collaborating with management and other departments.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Availability to work weekends, evenings, and special events.
  • Active participant in weekly Level 10 meetings
  • Minimum 3 years of retail, hospitality, or tasting room management experience.
  • Current food safety and TABC certifications (training provided if needed).
