About The Position

The Catering Sales Manager at The Las Olas Company / Riverside Hotel is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with clients to maximize revenue through effective negotiation and service delivery. This role involves conducting events, managing logistics, and ensuring customer satisfaction while adhering to hotel standards.

Requirements

  • Mid-level experience in catering sales or related field.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with OPERA and Delphi applications.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Knowledge of catering and event management standards.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain relationships with clients to maximize revenue.
  • Conduct events with customers by telephone or in-person to solicit catering business.
  • Meet and entertain customers, conduct property tours, and promote facilities and services.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and negotiate contracts with customers and vendors.
  • Oversee the successful set-up and execution of meetings, meals, and special events.
  • Provide direction and supervision of meeting and/or catering logistics to operational departments and staff members.
  • Maximize revenue by selling open functions within a 30-day booking window with negotiated food & beverage minimums.
  • Develop customer menus, draft contracts and letters, and organize arrangements for corporate events.
  • Audit customer checks and department charges to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure that contracts, menus, letters, and reports are completed according to Riverside Hotel Standards and policies.
  • Re-book functions and follow-up with customers post-event through proper tracing and booking dates.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of service standards and departmental equipment maintenance.
  • Attend management staff meetings and be prepared for presentations and discussions.
  • Assist staff with various problems encountered in guest relations or operations.
  • Ensure coverage of the Catering Sales office to meet client demands.
  • Handle walk-ins and inquiries for the hotel.
