The Taper will be responsible for the taping of coils.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Must have basic computer knowledge, data entry experience, and working knowledge of various equipment and tools.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-speed environment, follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Analytical Skills and high-level attention to detail are both required.
  • Ability to work within a team and independently.
  • Operate material handling equipment: Including potential use of forklifts or other equipment with appropriate training and/or ITEC certification.
  • Physical stamina, strength, and ability to handle heavy equipment are required.
  • Must be able to multitask.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret taping specification documents to determine characteristics required for specific coil to be taped.
  • Determine job number, coil number, quantity, and revision to ensure you are taping correct unit.
  • Covering lead wires with proper sleeving and mylar insulation.
  • Butt splicing lead wires.
  • Use ½" crepe tubing over the leads.
  • Use proper pressboard size for the condenser cover.
  • Cut out the "O" ring (w/ correct size pressboard) to H1 side.
  • Put on foil coil per spec, then crepe tape around coil per spec.
  • Build neck up, per spec.
  • Wrap unit completely, per spec, mark H1, then send to test.
  • Follow training and spec/procedures for laying papers to complete unit.
  • Proper soldering technique required.
  • Joint splices and crimp connections may be necessary.
  • Clocking in and out of jobs using Factory Track.
  • Safety is First priority.
