DURA-LINE IS HIRING 1st SHIFT LEAD TAPE OPERATOR Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:15pm SUMMARY OF FUNCTION: The Lead Tape Operator will oversee and maintain the production of high-quality product from the beginning of the weaving process to the completion of the tape products.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of heavy equipment/machine operation
  • At least 1 year of management/Lead experience
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Work, Data Entry, SAP desirable
  • Perform best practice quality checks on line and equipment
  • observe machine operating to detect product defects or machine malfunction
  • Reading, writing, and mathematical competency testing required
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to read measuring instruments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 Ibs with or without reasonable assistance
  • Ability to bend and stay in a bent over position for extended periods of time occasionally
  • Ability to work long shifts, weekends and nights
  • Ability to walk and stand on a concrete floor for long periods of time

Responsibilities

  • Assist Tape Associates as required.
  • Assist in training new Tape Associates.
  • Set up and operate looms and printers.
  • Perform minor maintenance on all equipment.
  • Assume the responsibility of the Supervisor in their absence.
  • Record shifts in downtime.
  • Oversee inner-plant truck pulling & packaging.
  • Record loom production numbers.
  • Load and maintain required amount of raw materials on reels.
  • Know and understand the applications of commonly used yarn types.
  • Check and verify that weft and lockstitch are being properly woven into the product.
  • Check and maintain fluid levels.
  • Build reels to make sure enough are left for the next shift.
  • Follow all safety requirements of this position.
  • Abide by all policies and procedures in the employee handbook.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area.
  • Perform all other duties as directed by management.
