About The Position

General Responsibilities: Responsibilities: Operate the tannery's wastewater treatment area safely and efficiently. • Perform the wastewater treatment process from the leather tanning process. • Perform the solid decantation process, using chemical products for wastewater treatment. • Transfer water between tanks and remove solids using a filter press. • Operate and troubleshoot problems associated with wastewater treatment operations. • Organize the waste disposal area for the wastewater treatment process. • Prevent cross-contamination of wastewater. • Monitor and fill out process control spreadsheets in the wastewater treatment unit. • Communicate preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance needs for equipment. • Perform equipment calibration when necessary. • Identify potential environmental problems and report them to the environmental supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • Some mechanical knowledge is required to troubleshoot simple problems.
  • The ability to multitask is essential.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is mandatory.
  • Good note-taking skills and basic math knowledge are required.
  • This position requires supervision, therefore, the operator must be disciplined to stay focused on tasks and meet performance requirements.
  • Self-Motivated/ High Sense of urgency
  • Able to work in both hot and cold temperatures

  • Experience in wastewater treatment is desirable.
