Requirements

  • Must be certified by USCG to perform inspections under the TBSIP program
  • Must hold USCG License Tankerman PIC with (DL- Barge) Endorsement
  • Must be able to identify all parts of a tank barge
  • Must be able to work over time, weekends etc
  • Must be able to travel and tanker barges at 3rd party loading and unloading locations
  • Expected to have superior knowledge in their assigned area as well as to know, understand and follow all company and USCG policies and procedures
  • Capable of effective communication with internal and 3rd party crews
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records to verify compliance with regulations and maintenance program (TBSIP)
  • Maintain valid driver’s license
  • Maintain a Valid TWIC card
  • Successful completion of a background check

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections under the TBSIP program
  • Identify all parts of a tank barge
  • Work over time, weekends etc
  • Travel and tanker barges at 3rd party loading and unloading locations
  • Have superior knowledge in their assigned area
  • Know, understand and follow all company and USCG policies and procedures
  • Lead by example through working safely, following procedures, and making safety contacts
  • Capable of effective communication with internal and 3rd party crews
  • Participate in safety meetings
  • Hold daily toolbox safety meetings prior to the start of any work
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records to verify compliance with regulations and maintenance program (TBSIP)
  • Manage major and specialized mechanical overhaul and repair work on marine diesel engines, tank barge pumps and valves, motors, and related marine equipment and systems using schematic charts and technical manuals
  • Troubleshoot, coordinate & maintain marine engines, tank barge pumps and valves, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and related equipment to determine need for repairs or adjustments
  • Troubleshoot barge functionality issues over the phone or email
  • Communicate with ARTCo Gulf Logistics Department when needed for Tank Barge movements
  • Pre-transfer inspection
  • Pre-transfer conference and execution of the declaration of inspection
  • Connect cargo hoses or loading arms
  • Line-up cargo system
  • Start of liquid flow during load/fueling
  • Start cargo pump and increase discharge pressure during discharge
  • Monitor flow and tank level
  • Top off cargo tanks during loading
  • Stripping cargo tanks during discharge
  • Disconnection of the cargo hoses or loading arms
  • Securing of cargo system
  • Maintain valid driver’s license
  • Maintain a Valid TWIC card
  • Other duties as assigned
