Requirements

Valid (CDL) Class A with interstate medical card.
Doubles/triples and tanker endorsement.
Ability to operate manual transmission.
Ability to apply critical thinking to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Ability to communicate using two-way radio.
Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
Must pass pre-employment physical examination and controlled substance testing.
Demonstrates the willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed.
Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle to ensure safe operational order and report maintenance or repair issues.
Drive truck to loading location, monitoring various gauges during operation of vehicle.
Ensure all hoses and clamps are safely secured, and that the material loaded is correct based on the instructions from the team.
High attention to detail to distinguish different types of materials. Discharging a product into the wrong cement silo is very costly.
Write entries in logbook: Noting freight hauled, destination, hours/miles driven and rest periods.
If necessary, obtain chains from storage on the trailer and drape them on the drive wheels of the truck and fasten into place. Remove chains when roads are clear.
Maintain a safe work area and vehicle.
Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
Routinely assist other members of the work force in different areas of production.
Take action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Regular and timely attendance.
Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.
