About The Position

iWorks is seeking a Journeyman-level Tanium Administrator to support a federal client. This role focuses on managing and optimizing the Tanium platform to enhance endpoint security, compliance monitoring, vulnerability management, and IT hygiene. The ideal candidate brings strong system administration experience, hands-on Tanium expertise, and the ability to operate within Agile environments while supporting mission-critical cybersecurity initiatives.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on Tanium administration or operational experience.
  • DoD 8570 IAT II Certification (e.g., Security+ CE or equivalent).
  • Experience with endpoint security, compliance monitoring, and vulnerability management in DoD or federal environments.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity compliance frameworks such as STIGs, NIST, or RMF.
  • Experience working within Agile teams and using Jira for task tracking.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with cross-functional technical teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting defense agencies or mission-critical federal programs.
  • Background as a Network and Computer Systems Administrator or Systems Administrator.
  • Experience developing Tanium dashboards, custom reporting, or automation workflows.
  • Familiarity with enterprise patch management and endpoint health monitoring tools.
  • Exposure to continuous improvement practices and process optimization initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Tanium modules supporting asset discovery, compliance tracking, vulnerability management, and patch management.
  • Monitor endpoint activity and health while identifying and coordinating remediation of security vulnerabilities.
  • Track and report on system and network compliance aligned with DoD standards (STIGs, NIST, RMF).
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and operational documentation to support compliance and security initiatives.
  • Participate in Agile team ceremonies and manage work through Jira ticketing workflows.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams, system administrators, and mission stakeholders to maintain operational excellence.
  • Contribute to process improvement, automation, and knowledge sharing across the team.
