We are currently seeking a Talent Management Assistant and Administrative Support to join our growing Consulting team. FMP Consulting is seeking a Talent Management Assistant and Administrative Support professional to support human resources operations for a federal client. This role focuses on maintaining HR data accuracy, processing personnel actions, and providing administrative support to HR specialists, hiring managers, and new hires.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with basic federal human resources concepts, processes, and terminology
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and standard administrative tools

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF)
  • Experience with the Department of the Interior’s Federal Personnel Payroll System (FPPS)

Responsibilities

  • Enter and maintain employee and position data in federal HR systems, including FPPS/DOI and internal agency systems.
  • Process and file personnel actions such as appointments, pay changes, and reassignments.
  • Maintain employee records in compliance with federal records management requirements.
  • Upload and organize vacancy announcement files in staffing systems and shared drives.
  • Draft job offer letters, placement letters, and temporary assignment letters.
  • Collect and organize pre-employment documentation such as security forms, tax forms, and transcripts.
  • Support intern onboarding and orientation, including day-one troubleshooting.
  • Monitor shared HR inboxes and ticket systems; respond to routine inquiries and escalate complex issues.
  • Assist with posting job announcements and coordinating outreach efforts.
  • Coordinate with HR staff and program offices to meet deadlines and provide status updates.
  • Ensure HR data is accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
  • Support continuous improvement of HR administrative processes.
