About The Position

The Talent Learning and Development Leader will play a pivotal part in shaping the growth and success of employees by creating effective learning strategies and experiences. By collaborating with business leaders and HR partners, they ensure that employees are equipped with the necessary skills to excel in their roles. The L&D Director will be a strategic thinker, problem solver, experienced facilitator and a relationship builder who is adept at innovating, adaptable and a forward-thinking change leader, while managing risk and exercising good judgment. Additionally, they will have excellent project and program management skills and able to navigate autonomously in an ambiguous, fast paced and matrixed environment. The L&D Director will manage, coach and grow both their own direct reports as well as other employees across the organization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Learning and Development, to include the following:
  • Adult Learning Facilitation: Skilled in utilizing a broad range of facilitation methods, tools, and approaches (e.g., interactive activities, role-playing, case studies) to meet specific learning outcomes and organizational goals.
  • Instructional Design: Ability to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Training Needs Analysis: Experience performing needs assessments, creating training action plans and successful implementation.
  • Learning Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with various learning management systems and e-learning tools.
  • Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Adept at fostering a problem-solving mindset within groups, encouraging creative thinking and critical analysis to tackle complex issues and generate actionable insights.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Working effectively with business leaders and HR partners to determine needs and develop effective training and development programs.
  • Change Leadership: Role model the way related to change management. Identity areas for improvement and facilitate organizational change.
  • Employee Engagement Strategies: Developing strategies to keep employees motivated and engaged
  • People Management and Development: Effectively managing, coaching and mentoring both direct reports and other employees.
  • Leadership Development: Experience with building and executing leadership development programs, to include coaching various levels of leadership to their full potential.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate active listening with the ability to effectively engage, inspire, and motivate diverse audiences, ensuring clarity and understanding across all levels of the organization. Maintaining confidentiality.
  • Emotional Intelligence: high degree of self-awareness, interpersonal skills and professional maturity, with the ability to navigate and build credible, value-add relationships at all levels.
  • Conflict Resolution: Highly skilled in identifying and resolving conflicts within groups, mediating effectively to maintain a positive and productive atmosphere while supporting collaboration.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to adapt facilitation styles, content, and approaches based on the evolving needs of the group and changing business objectives.
  • Analytical Skills: Capable of evaluating the impact and effectiveness of training sessions, using feedback and data to recommend and implement improvements to programs for future success.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Plan Development and Execution: Develop, recommend and execute the professional learning and development strategies for the company.
  • Manage Group Dynamics: Ensure that training programs are delivered in a professional, engaging, and impactful manner, maintaining high levels of participant engagement. Promote open discussions that allow for the exploration of diverse ideas, constructive dialogue, and problem-solving
  • Critical Thinking: Possess mastery in addressing highly complex and non-routine challenges during training sessions, utilizing extensive experience and expertise to find innovative solutions
  • Utilize Facilitation Tools: Leverage best practices in adult learning to deliver, engage participants and ensure learning effectiveness.
  • Provide Constructive Feedback: Offer tailored, actionable feedback to participants, fostering continuous improvement and deeper understanding.
  • Mentorship and People Development: Provide expert-level mentorship and coaching skills, providing tailored guidance, feedback, and opportunities for professional growth to employees (both direct reports and employees across the company).
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate closely with internal teams to understand learning needs, align content with business goals, and ensure effective communication.
  • Content Development: Create and deliver localized and relevant content, utilizing a just-in-time approach to meet the evolving needs of the organization and enhance skill development.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
