The Talent Development Specialist manages a caseload of participants, providing counseling and mentoring, assessing their competencies, work history, and skills to identify employment challenges and help them find solutions. The role involves conducting regular individual meetings for job search, education, job retention, and readiness, and creating individualized employment plans. The specialist is responsible for maintaining information on local resources and employers, ensuring participant accountability, tracking employment retention, and notifying government agencies of employment changes. They also maintain periodic contact with participants to address job retention/advancement, provide information on training and job opportunities, and monitor progress towards self-sufficiency throughout the program cycle. Key aspects include preparing and maintaining accurate participant files, providing case management focused on employment leading to self-sufficiency, and facilitating access to training, education, and employment services. The role also involves working with diverse cultural, linguistic, educational, and economic backgrounds in a classroom setting, coordinating instruction, improving job readiness scores, introducing various tools, ensuring assignment completion, conducting follow-up outreach, and maintaining student assessments.
