About The Position

The Talent Advisor & Onboarding Specialist is focused on new employees joining the firm, owning the onboarding experience for all new hires and providing structured talent advising for early-career professionals. Working closely with technical training teams, department leadership, and other key stakeholders, this role ensures new employees are effectively integrated into the firm and supported in their professional growth. This role includes extensive communication and collaboration with department technical trainers, department leaders, and other members of the HR team. Success in the role will be shown through positive feedback on the onboarding experience, strong engagement and retention metrics, and scalable processes that support firm growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, Business, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of experience in onboarding, training, talent development, coaching, academic advising, or related HR functions.
  • Experience supporting early-career professionals in a professional services, accounting, or similarly structured environment.
  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience within a CPA firm or professional services organization.
  • Coaching certification or formal training in career coaching or adult learning principles.
  • Familiarity with performance management and professional development frameworks.
  • Familiarity with DiSC development tool.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the end-to-end onboarding experience for all new hires, ensuring consistency, engagement, and alignment with firm culture and values.
  • Develop and facilitate onboarding programming that introduces new employees to the firm’s people, systems, processes, and expectations.
  • Coordinate onboarding schedules and content in partnership with department leaders, technical trainers, IT, HR, and other key contributors.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires during their first week, providing guidance, answering questions, and addressing onboarding issues in real time.
  • Collect and analyze onboarding feedback to continuously improve the new hire experience.
  • Serve as a talent advisor and coach to new employees, with a focus on early-career professionals, in partnership with supervisors and firm leaders.
  • Support guided goal setting, professional development planning, and skill building, working to create a culture of continuous improvement and lifelong learning.
  • Provide individualized coaching on navigating the firm, performance expectations, communication, workload management, and career progression.
  • Act as a connector between employees and firm resources, including training programs, mentors, and leadership.
  • Partner with performance management stakeholders to support retention, engagement, and developmental alignment.
  • Develop and facilitate group programming to support the goals of the talent advisory program.
