About The Position

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for independently managing the sourcing, soliciting, and interviewing of potential candidates. This individual is responsible for selling J.B. Hunt's compensation and benefits packages, advising on pay/salary, and consulting with hiring managers on recruiting strategy.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Business Administration/Management, Communications, Psychology, or related field and 1 year of relevant experience; or 3+ years combination of relevant education, experience and training.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee candidate sourcing process and talent pipeline by interviewing candidates, conducting interviews, asking probing questions and interpreting responses in order to advance candidates
  • Initiate requisition creation and approval process
  • Interview, assess and refer candidates to appropriate employment positions
  • Investigate non-compete/non-solicitation agreements
  • Advise hiring managers on pay/salary and recommend recruiting strategies and tactics that support the goals and direction of J.B. Hunt
  • Extend offers of employment and negotiate offer components within predetermined parameters with little to no oversight from hiring managers
  • Manage, plan, and facilitate activities for organizational recruiting such as company information sessions and interview days
  • Lead departmental staffing meetings and shares data on candidate activity and recruiting progress; regularly report on recruiting activity, tactics, strategy, shortcomings and successes; provide information to help hiring managers and influence workforce planning decisions
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of prospective and current candidates utilizing advanced sourcing and recruiting strategies.
  • Communicate regularly and partner with other internal departments, business units and senior management to build relationships across the organization and ensure the effective implementation of recruiting policies
  • Provide mentorship and coach junior staff on skills such as sourcing, influencing, negotiation, and networking
  • Collaborate as needed with HR Centers of Expertise and HR Operations to ensure that recruiting services are delivered effectively and efficiently
