About The Position

Join Our Team as a Talent Acquisition Partner! SDSU is seeking a Talent Acquisition Partner to support the Division of Business and Financial Affairs (BFA), a dynamic and diverse division responsible for the university’s core operational functions. This role offers a unique opportunity to support a broad portfolio of functions and leadership across the division, partnering with units such as Business Operations, Financial Operations, Human Resources, Environmental Health & Safety, Public Safety, and Real Estate, Planning & Development. The role blends strategic partnership, hands-on recruiting, team leadership, and continuous improvement in a high-impact environment. What You'll Do: Be a Strategic Partner: Act as a trusted advisor to hiring managers, providing expert guidance on recruitment strategies, market trends, and hiring best practices. Manage Full-Cycle Recruitment: Lead end-to-end recruitment efforts for staff and management roles across diverse functional areas, from intake and sourcing through selection and onboarding. Lead and Support Recruiting Staff: Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and mentorship to a Recruiter, ensuring consistent practices, strong service delivery, and high-quality hiring outcomes. Drive Innovative Recruitment: Implement creative sourcing strategies and proactive outreach to build a robust talent pipeline and engage diverse, high-performing candidates. Promote Inclusive Hiring Practices: Ensure equitable, consistent, and compliant recruitment processes aligned with CSU policies and SDSU’s commitment to access and belonging. Collaborate Across HR: Partner with Classification & Compensation, Employee Relations, and HR Analytics to ensure a coordinated, compliant, and data-driven approach to hiring. Use Data to Drive Results: Track key recruitment metrics, analyze trends, and make informed recommendations to improve efficiency and candidate experience. Position Information This is a full-time, at-will role, offering comprehensive benefits. Position is designated exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs. This position is approved for partial telecommuting with on-site work in San Diego after the training period. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in full-cycle recruitment, talent acquisition, or human resources.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of HR policies, employment laws, regulations, and best practices in recruitment and selection.
  • Proficiency with PageUp or similar applicant tracking systems, PeopleSoft HCM, and LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Demonstrated experience providing lead work direction or supervising recruitment staff, including assigning work, coaching, and ensuring consistent, high-quality recruitment practices.
  • Demonstrated success in using data analytics and metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, candidate experience, hiring manager satisfaction) to drive recruitment strategy and improve hiring outcomes.
  • Proven ability to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement innovative recruiting strategies that enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and candidate experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build partnerships across diverse groups and organizational levels.
