About The Position

The Talent Acquisition Manager will be responsible for leading and advancing the talent acquisition function across the Americas. This role will work closely with the Global Talent Acquisition Leadership Team to build and execute innovative strategies that align with UL Solutions’ short and long-term corporate goals. This leadership position requires the ability to coach, inspire and lead a team of talent acquisition professionals to fulfill UL Solutions’ talent needs. The TA Manager will also act as a strategic advisor to executive stakeholders and Hiring Managers, shaping search strategies, guiding workforce planning conversations, and influencing decisions related to talent pipelines, assessment, and offers. The TA Manager for the Americas will lead full-cycle recruiting efforts while also elevating the overall effectiveness of the talent acquisition function in the region. That includes driving sourcing strategy, promoting the ULS brand in competitive markets, and ensuring the team uses recruiting tools and data with accuracy and intent. A key part of the role is developing a deep understanding of the organization’s structure and talent needs so that recruiting strategies align with long-term business goals. Strong judgment, relationship building, and communication skills are essential, as the TA Manager will often facilitate alignment across multiple stakeholders and regions. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys leading through influence, improving processes, mentoring others through complex hiring decisions, and representing the organization’s values in every interaction.

Requirements

  • University Degree (Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree) in Human Resources or related discipline
  • 10+ years of corporate recruiting experience in a multi-national company
  • Exceptional track record as a leader, mentor and coach to a team across Americas
  • Experience leading a recruiting function in a skills-based operating model across multiple discipline areas and levels, including hiring for nonexempt, exempt, technical roles and leadership positions
  • Experience in capturing and analyzing metrics, dashboards, and producing various recruitment reports to tell the story
  • Working knowledge of all areas of sourcing such as the internet, social media, networking, employee referrals, job postings, events, and campus
  • Proficient in applicant tracking system required, Oracle preferred
  • Results-orientation with a collaborative working style
  • Confident interpersonal skills with an ability to build positive relationships across all levels of an organization.
  • A trusted advisor to the business based on the ability to be a strategic consultant to executives.
  • Ability to understand business strategy to articulately and persuasively position ULS as an employer of choice to prospective candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the talent acquisition function for the Americas region to ensure successful delivery of talent acquisition services while supporting the overall strategic goals of the organization.
  • Be a trusted advisor to the business by establishing and maintaining strong relationships with senior management with a thorough understanding of the business.
  • Build a high-performing team of consultative, trusted Talent Advisors who are strong business partners, able to lead hiring teams through the recruitment process by delivering value-add insights and service with a laser-focus on hiring top talent.
  • Create strong talent pipelines by developing programs for proactive sourcing of qualified applicants utilizing UL Solutions employer branding across a smart mix of social media and recruitment channels.
  • Use data and metrics to manage talent acquisition performance and progress.
  • Manage data integrity for the region within UL Solutions ATS.
  • Work closely with HRIS to collect and coordinate aggregate data for talent pool and translate that data into insights that drive deliberate action plans at the appropriate levels.
  • Continually look for opportunities to better promote career opportunities to the internal employee population.
  • Responsible for the successful rollout of talent acquisition related initiatives in your region.
  • Continuously market and optimize programs such as the employee referral program, internal mobility, etc.
  • Look for innovative ideas and resources for recruiting, onboarding and retention of employees.
  • Identify needed recruitment-related training for Hiring Managers and the Talent Acquisition Team. Partner with UL University to develop and execute.
  • Support the team by staying apprised of employment laws, legal requirements and government reporting regulations.
  • Promote the ULS brand while utilizing creative sourcing techniques to identify and attract active and passive talent.

  • This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 20% of the base salary.
