Talent Acquisition Associate (Staff Recruitment)

VirtuasHouston, TX
Hybrid

About The Position

Virtuas is a Certified B Corp and IT services company based in Houston. We work with growing organizations to design, manage, and improve their technology environment. We were founded on a simple belief: that if you take care of your clients, your people, and your community, the business takes care of itself. That belief is not a tagline. It is how we operate every day. We are growing our team and looking for someone who wants to help us find the right people. Not just fill seats. Find people who belong here. This role is for someone who is organized, genuinely curious about others, and gets real satisfaction from connecting the right person to the right opportunity. If you have done any recruiting, HR coordination, talent sourcing, sales, or similar work and found that the part you loved most was the conversation with candidates, this role was built for you. How We Work We hire for our own internal team. We are not a staffing agency. That means every person you help bring in becomes a Virtuas colleague, and the quality of each hire has a direct impact on the company and the people already here. You will work closely with our leadership team and managers to understand what each role actually requires, build candidate pipelines, and help guide candidates through the process with professionalism and care. We are a small, growing company, which means this role will touch a lot of parts of the hiring process, not just one piece of it.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. You write clearly, speak confidently, and genuinely listen to people.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple open roles and conversations at the same time.
  • Collaborative and comfortable working with different kinds of people, from technical members to administrative and operational team members.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft 365 and general productivity tools. Familiarity with any ATS or CRM is preferred.
  • Able to work independently and stay on top of your responsibilities in a hybrid and mostly remote environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in recruiting, HR coordination, talent sourcing, staffing, account coordination, or a similar role. We are open to candidates who are newer to recruiting but bring transferable skills from adjacent fields.
  • Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter or similar sourcing tools.
  • Exposure to a professional services, IT, or technology environment is helpful but not required.
  • A background in communications, human resources, psychology, business, or a related field. We care more about how you think and communicate than about any specific degree.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and reach out to candidates across a variety of channels, including job boards, LinkedIn, employee referrals, and other sourcing strategies.
  • Maintain active pipelines for open roles and keep a steady flow of candidates moving through the process.
  • Write and publish job postings that clearly communicate who we are and what each role is about.
  • Screen applicants and conduct initial conversations to assess fit before passing candidates to managers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the hiring process, keeping them informed and making sure every interaction reflects well on Virtuas.
  • Schedule interviews, coordinate logistics, and follow up with candidates promptly so no one feels left in the dark.
  • Provide clear, honest feedback when candidates are not moving forward.
  • Help new hires through the early stages of the onboarding process so their first impression of working here is a good one.
  • Maintain accurate records of candidate activity in our applicant tracking system.
  • Track pipeline metrics and keep managers informed on where things stand.
  • Support continuous improvement of our hiring process, from how we write job descriptions to how we make offers.
  • Work alongside leadership on workforce planning conversations to anticipate hiring needs before they become urgent.
