Under supervision, performs human resources generalist activities in one or more of the hospital’s human resources programs such as: talent acquisition, employee benefits, classification and compensation. Distinguishing Characteristics: This position classification is responsible for coordinating recruitment activities for positions that are largely unique to the hospital, clinical, licensed and other healthcare staff. Essential Functions: Manages the recruiting functions for Kern Medical, resulting in successful candidate selection and retention. Researches, recommends and implements staffing and recruiting processes and programs to support “employer of choice” vision. Reviews and makes recommendations for improving employee orientation process and implements recommendations upon approval from management. Partners with hiring managers to determine staffing needs. Screens applications and resumes and interviews candidates; administers appropriate assessments; conducts reference and background checks. Makes recommendations for hire and delivers employment offers and tracks trends such as time to fill and acceptance rate. Identifies and attracts quality candidates by participating in career fairs, on-line job fairs, community network events, and social media venues. Works closely with the Compensation and Benefits Manager to provide market information on salary and benefits; makes recommendations for compensation and benefits program modifications. Helps facilitate on-boarding of new employees and contractors ; oversees new employee orientation. Works with Employee Health Coordinator to ensure all pre-employment requirements. Works with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations including Affirmative Action Plan compliance. Essential Functions (continued): Manages current candidate activity in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Manages application and resume file and retention according to company policy. Other Functions: Performs other job-related duties as required.
