About The Position

The ancestors of the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation existed many centuries ago as a community of people…a Tribe living together, farming, hunting and fishing to survive. Much has changed since that time. Today the Sycuan Tribe governs its Reservation, owns and operates a Casino and a Golf Resort, and owns a number of other business ventures in the San Diego Region. Job Purpose: Provide Wardrobe services and alterations to Sycuan Casino and Singing Hill Golf Resort team members while maintaining uniform inventory and providing excellent internal guest service to team members.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, High School Certificate of Completion, of G.E.D.
  • 3 years alterations experience in a high volume environment
  • Working knowledge of standard sewing techniques and procedures
  • Ability to operate industrial sewing machines, industrial sergers, industrial blind stich machines, and other sewing machines
  • Ability to operate heat seal machine, cutting, and ironing equipment and tools
  • Intermediate computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft, Word and Excel Excellent guest service skills
  • Ability to maintain deadlines and prioritize workflow to ensure deadlines are met
  • Ability to document and track assignments through internal department log
  • Knowledge of fabrics, fits, styles, and construction of garments
  • Strong data-entry computer skills
  • Excellent guest service skills
  • Ability to read, complete, and file forms/documents
  • Ability to read and analyze inventory/garment reports

Responsibilities

  • Perform garment alterations and repairs by repairing defective garments such as pockets, zippers, snaps, buttons, and lining, prioritizing dates garments are needed, estimate how much a garment will cost to alter or repair based on factors such as time and material requirements, and providing information to Wardrobe leadership, while updating uniform database and electronic signage board on completed alterations.
  • Provide team member with properly fitted uniforms by participating in new hire fittings by taking team member’s body measurements, converting team member measurements data into the uniform garment tracking system, pulling appropriate uniforms from inventory, fitting, alerting/tailoring clothing, and issuing uniforms to new or transferring team members. Responsible for knowing all uniform products and looks per area.
  • Provide Wardrobe services to team members by adding, replacing, and removing uniforms assigned to team members as needed, assigning and reassigning lockers, and dry cleaning items to team members, training team members to use the garment system, reporting damaged uniforms, and notifying items to order to Wardrobe leadership.
  • Control the quality of uniform inventory services by communicating operational or supply needs and quality concerns to Wardrobe Leadership and maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment within the area of responsible. Ensures the highest level of data integrity and accuracy when assigning and unassigning garments. Participates in yearly inventory counts for the department.
  • Provide excellent guest service to all team members by greeting them and maintaining a positive attitude. Handles sensitive information and appropriately interacts with team members during fittings.
