About The Position

The Table Games Shift Manager will manage gaming activity on a day-to-day basis to ensure the integrity of table games and poker room, as applicable. Will resolve issues and respond to guest concerns as they arise. Will assist other departments as a leader on the gaming floor when gaming or guest relation issues arise. Exercises good judgment in managing the operation of all games, within the limits of established policies and procedures. Directs and manages table game operations in accordance with applicable Catawba Nation Gaming Commission regulations and North Carolina State regulations, as applicable, company policies, internal controls, and standard operating procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate degree preferred or equivalent in experience of a minimum of 10 years Table Games experience, with a minimum of five (5) years of upper-level casino management (Pit Manager or above). Table Games start ups and/or dealer school training experience are preferred.
  • Must have certification and/or experience in the following games: Craps, Blackjack, Baccarat, Roulette, Carnival Games, and others, as applicable.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Catawba Gaming License.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Public relations and customer service skills.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Maintaining interpersonal working relationships among all personnel.
  • Willingness to assume overall responsibility relative to the performance of the staff, product, and equipment.
  • Timeliness and accuracy in performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret departmental needs and results.

Responsibilities

  • Compliance with Catawba Nation Gaming Commission regulations, casino policies, internal controls, standard operating procedures and conducts all games in accordance with aforementioned regulations, policies, and controls.
  • Responsible for practicing, supporting, and always promoting GUEST standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining rules, policies and procedures related to all gaming and casino credit activity and ensuring that all shifts are consistent in adhering to the same rules, policies, and procedures as set by the Director of Table Games.
  • Responsible for distribution, collection, inspection of, and inventory of cards, dice, and other table games equipment.
  • Responsible for all table games operations on their assigned shift and relaying any pertinent information to the other shifts.
  • Conduct meetings with Director of Table Games on a timely basis to review budgets and budgets compared to actual. Conduct meetings of other gaming-related matters.
  • Analyze, on a daily/weekly/monthly basis, all gaming statistics.
  • Review all complementary items to ascertain justification as to their effectiveness in contributing to the overall profitability.
  • Ability to complete all duties and responsibilities of a Table Games Pit Manager, Table Games Floor Supervisor, Table Games Dealer, as applicable.
  • Work in cooperation with the Surveillance and Compliance to ensure asset protection and continued profitability.
  • Maintain System of Internal Controls and audit procedures of gaming chips, equipment, cards, and operational reports.
  • Conduct investigations into the resolution of variances to ensure compliance, protection of company assets, and game integrity; assess the integrity of all games and take corrective action when required.
  • Assist in generating and reviewing Table Games activity and other special reports.
  • Build a friendly environment among Table Games staff by setting a consistent example of “hands on”, and “lead by example” hospitality toward guests and staff following company Service Standards.
  • Provide input and resolution concerning operational deficiencies and areas in need of attention in order to maintain the highest levels of operation with staffing, limits, and game pace audits.
  • Assist Director of Table Games in building an effective team of qualified and productive management, supervisory personnel, and dealers to achieve positive departmental results.
  • Participate in the continual development of the Table Games department.
  • Monitor staffing levels to ensure that games and tables are adequately staffed for each shift, arranging for staff rotations and breaks, and locating substitute employees as necessary.
  • Resolve customer complaints.
  • Assist in the review of operational expenses, budget estimates and collection reports for accuracy.
  • Knowledge of gaming and alcohol beverage control regulations and company internal policies and procedures.
  • Explain and interpret house rules, such as game rules and betting limits.
  • Assist in the interviewing and hiring of internal and external candidates for employment.
  • Assist with the removal of suspected cheaters, skilled players such as card counters, and other players who may have systems that shift the odds of winning to their favor.
  • Assists in company functions.
  • Preform other duties as assigned
