Job Description Job Summary Directs varied mechanical, and basic electrical and basic instrument and control maintenance activities and other duties necessary, and performs duties as qualified, to maintain generation facilities. This position is part of the traveling crew and will be home-based. As a result, the employee must maintain residency within 60 minutes of either Columbia, Edgewater or Riverside. What you will do Responsible for and directs the overall mechanical and basic electrical and basic instrument and control maintenance functions to include but not limited to the following: Performs and/or directs the mechanical and basic electrical and basic instrument and control troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, cleaning, inspecting, and constructing of equipment and systems for the generation facility. Coordinates small and large projects performed with either in-house or outside resources. Participates in outage planning and coordinates outage work projects and activities. Delegates the work by generation facility. Assures that all documentation is performed. Maintains maintenance and related records. Directs, operates, and/or obtains information from various mechanical and electrical devices used to support specific equipment diagnostics or work activities; gathers, interprets, and logs data. Performs and/or directs various non-structural welding activities and directs structural welding activities. Supports safety, plant reliability, productivity, and plant efficiency improvements by participating in continuous improvement activities. Directs the performance and is responsible for the safety and orientation of assigned employees. Encourages an environment where employees address safety concerns. Model professional behavior and customer service as a company representative to promote good relations. Requirements

  • Qualified to perform the duties of T-Maintenance Mechanical, T-Maintenance Electrical, and T-Maintenance Instrument and Control
  • 3 years' experience in the mechanical, electrical, and/or instrumentation/control trades.
  • Knowledge of company safety rules and PPOPs.
  • High degree of mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
  • Strong leadership ability: leave by example, collaborate, and build strong teams.
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the job.
  • Through leadership and effective communication, foster a diverse work environment of culture, talents, abilities, and experiences.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED, Preferred.
  • Completion of a State approved apprenticeship program preferred but not required.
  • Well-developed skills in machining; knowledge of theory and skill in welding.
